It Came To Pass

In the bible the phrase " it came to pass" is used numerous times, and we always think it to mean "it so happened" or "as it happened, but let's look at it literally. " It came": it arrived, showed up- "to pass: to go by, across or through. So by literal definition we can say something arrives so that it can go through, making it no longer present, but past. It came to pass, not to stay.
We all face circumstances that we would rather not deal with or that we think we cannot deal with at all. Death, illness, financial problems, religious persecution are just a few, the list is never ending. But remember this, in the physical realm everything at one point or another becomes history. It is the period between it's arrival and it's departure, (the storm), that we question why it has happened. Simply put, it arrived as a challenge presented before you so that through God's love, grace, mercy, peace , joy and understanding you could overcome it and let it officially become archived as history.
The battle was already won at the cross 1 Corinthians 15:57 " But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ", but as much as it pains us, we still have to walk on the battlefield. This is for our benefit, relevant to our spiritual growth. Because we cling to the hope in Glory who is Jesus Christ and rely on Him solely during our trials, we come to a deeper more intimate relationship with Him.

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
